Australian Daylight Saving Time Changes

The states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory will now have summer time from 2am standard time on the first Sunday in October to 2am standard time on the first Sunday in April. These changes start with the end of summer time in 2008, and will result in the above locations having the same summer time as Tasmania. I replaced the latest timezone settings for Australia under /usr/share/zoneinfo. zdump shows the recent DST changes for Australian time zones. Hi, We are facing some problems regarding date/time issues in Java Applications. We found out Time zone info data for JRE is not up to date regarding 2007 brazilian DST schedule. As of 2007 brazilian DST schedule goes from 2007-10-14 to 2008-02-17. We had to update our file using the following rules: Rule Brazil 2007 only - Oct 14 0:00 1:00 D Rule Brazil 2008 only - Feb 17 0:00 0 - Official government information can be found at: http://pcdsh01.on.br/DecHV6212.gif Is it possible to update Time zone info source files? IATA Airport Identifiers

Hi, I maintain a file that maps the zone name for about 1800 airports to their IATA, ICAO and FAA identifiers. For instance: # Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Pearson International Airport Link America/Toronto IATA/YYZ Link America/Toronto ICAO/YYZ Link America/Toronto FAA/CYYZ We append this data to tz's backward file and it simplifies life for us, since we deal extensively with aircraft routing information. I haven't been able to find anyone else that doing a similar thing and would like to make this data publicly available in the event that it would be of use. The need to do time calculations by airport ID isn't all that common, but if you need to, these mappings are really, really, helpful. Is there a central repository of other such add-ons to the tz database or some other way to let people know that this data exists? Rikk Salamat Crewsware Software Inc.
