Time Zone Map Database

I am looking for a time zone database to use in C-Programming. The database descriptions are followed: -Text File easy for processing with C -Contain Map Element, instead of Zone-By-Name -Example: have vector lines that represent timezone boundary with the vector vertices in longitude and latitude coordinate. I notice the Olson Database doesn't contain such boundary line element. And I am wondering where I might be able to obtain such database. I would really appriciate if you can provide me with some information. W.r.t timezone update for Asia/Choibalsan

Hi, I am currently updating the timezones for evolution (default mail client for many linux distros) . I have a small doubt with updating timezone for the location Asia/Choibalsan. I see that the offset is +09000 from the olson timezone database (ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/) for the standard timezone, but timeanddate.com (http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/results.html?query=Choibalsan) http://www.travelpost.com/AS/Mongolia/Dornod/Choibalsan/7449157 and http://www.timeinside.com/view.jsp?region=Asia&country=Mongolia&city=Choiba… show its +08000 for Choibalsan. Please let me know which would be the right offset for Asia/Choibalsan. thanks in advance, Chenthill.

C#/VB.NET PublicDomain Olson Time Zone Database Implementation

Hi, I created a fully Public Domain .NET library which implements the Olson time zone database for .NET applications. The package is called PublicDomain and the source, binaries, and documentation are available at http://www.codeplex.com/PublicDomain. Olson time zone database support is just one part of a larger package of various pieces of public domain code. The package was written from scratch in C# and includes an objectified form of the olson time zone database (because we all know how fun it is to analyze the raw, obfuscated data). I also created a variety of unit and regression tests. The implementation used to be quite experimental, but now it has gone through a bit of usage and appears to be getting quite solid. I also wrote an article on codeproject discussing a simple use case of using the package (http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/Using_time_zones_in_NET.asp) I would appreciate it if you included a description of this package for those that use .NET, including C#, VB.NET, etc. on the Olson Time zone database home page (http://www.twinsun.com/tz/tz-link.htm) -- using some form of less verbose description than mine above :-). Due to the Hijri (lunar Islamic calendar) year being 11 days shorter than the year of the Gregorian calendar, Ramadan shifts earlier each year. This year it will be observed September 13 (September is quite hot in Egypt), and the idea is to make fasting easier for workers by shifting business hours one hour out of daytime heat. Consequently, unless discontinued, next DST may end Thursday 28 August 2008.

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone.html?n=53 shows a change time of Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 11:59:59 PM So it looks like even thought the 2008 date passed, it has been picked. Anyone knows how official this 2008 date is? Would be nice to do the 2008 early in advance.
