I don't have much update on the supposed early Egypt DST ending, but I found the following two web pages that agree with Dirk Losch and the airline he refers to (or rather doesn't refer to). One is http://www.nentjes.info/Bill/bill5.htm which I had not seen before. The other is Steffen Thorsen's page http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=53 perhaps Steffen can enlighten us on his sources for this information? Dirk Losch's heads-up about Egypt suggests it's time to push out a new version, since the tz data will become incorrect for Egypt on September 7 and lots of people are on vacation now. Here's a proposed patch containing all the patches I've accumulated recently. Sorry, I don't recollect some of the contributors and gmane seems to be down so I can't access this data easily; my apologies if I've omitted your name. * Egypt switches the September 7, not September 28. Thanks to Dirk Losch for this. * Daviess, Dubous, Knox, Martin, and Pike Counties, Indiana, switch from central to eastern time in November. This results in a zone split, and a new entry America/Tell_City is created for Perry County, which does not switch zones in November. * South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales are changing their DST rules effective next year. DST will end the first Sunday in April at 03:00 and start the first Sunday in October at 03:00. Lord Howe Island has a similar change. * Several Antarctic station's rules weren't properly updated to account for this year's change to the New Zealand daylight saving rules. * In zone.tab (sorry, I don't recall who sent in these changes): ** Dumont-d'Urville is a station, not a base. ** Correct the coordinates for Aruba, Cambridge Bay, London, Johnston. ** Give alternate spellings for Zaporozhye. * Add spelling notes for Kiev, Uzhgorod, Zaporozhye. (Sorry, I forgot who wrote this.) * Identify American time zone boundaries more carefully. Yes, indeed - it is fine, I looked at the wrong file, sorry about that. However, it is very likely that the date will not be incorrect for 2008, as it will fall in the middle of Ramadan (again), so that might be something to change later.
