Julian cable is not on the time zone mailing list; direct (further) replies appropriately. Whenever a zone of the form XXXnYYY is used and there's no associated time zone data file, the time package generates results appropriate for a place where the standard time abbreviation is XXX, the daylight saving time abbreviation is YYY and the offset from UCT/UTC is n hours. Fix for Azerbaijan daylight saving rules

Dear tz team, I would like to report that the time of daylight saving for Azerbaijan is incorrect in current version of tz. In the latest version of tz, both rules become effective at 1:00am. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on daylight saving in the territory of Azerbaijan: 1. Inasmuch as every year since 1997 all clocks are advanced one hour at 4am on the last Sunday of March, Azerbaijan Republic must pass to summer time. 2. By turning clocks back an hour at 5am on the last Sunday of October, summer time is cancelled. Full text of resolution in English and Azeri is available at: <http://aif.az/docs/daylight_res.pdf>. Original images of resolution will be added to this document later. This document is effective since March 1997. As is stated in the tz tables' comments, in 1999 I invented the abbreviations BRT/BRST, AMT/AMST, etc., that are used in the current tz tables for Brazil. As far as I know nobody else has needed, or uses, English-language acronyms for the Brazilian time zone. However, should an alternate tradition arise in practice, of course we'd prefer to use the English-language abbreviations that people are actually using, as opposed to abbreviations that we have invented.

Hello. Attached is a patch for UYT recent changes. The government changed the local time between Oct 9 2005 2:00 and Mar 12 2006 the legal time will be GMT-2. The decree is in http://www.presidencia.gub.uy/_Web/decretos/2005/09/CM%20119_09%2009%202005… Please check that the patch is correct beacuse I dont know the exact format of the timezone source.
