To DST or not to DST. Currently the TZ DB has Tonga moving to DST on the 5th November. In 2016 they announced they were resuming DST, in the only reference to that I could quickly find <http://matangitonga.to/tag/daylight-saving?page=1>, does not state that this was for one year or whether the resumption was also for successive years. No reference for the change was added to the TZ DB. IATA it seems have taken it as being for a single year and so do not have DST starting this year. Given the discrepancy between IANA and IATA (besides the letter T), does any body have any authoritative/corroborating source for either position. /David

Hi, Just to inform you about the breaking news in Turkey with regards to DST: http://www.sozcu.com.tr/2017/ekonomi/son-dakika-haberi-yaz-saati-uygulamasi… The Council of State have annulled the law that resulted in Turkey in no longer using DST. It appears that Namibia adopts new time zone. According to timeanddate.com Namibia will stay on Daylight Saving Time (DST) all year, effectively adding 1 hour to its standard time. On the final day of the fall sitting on Tuesday, Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership candidate, Vermilion-Lloydminster MLA Richard Starke presented a petition to the legislature calling for repeal of the Daylight Saving Time Act and a move to Central Time (from Mountain Time), to be decided by a referendum. Should there be a link between Asia/Hanoi and Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh in TZDB? Background of my question is an issue reported on the ThreetenBP-issue-tracker (see: https://github.com/ThreeTen/threetenbp/issues/57) where someone has observed a crash on its Android mobile phone using Asia/Hanoi as system tz (resided in OS) while the extra tz-distribution of an external library (ThreetenBP) does not contain that identifier (probably because it is in the backzone-file of TZDB). Hi all, Here is a daylight saving order for Fiji DST in 2018 to finish on the 14th, rather than the 21st (local time). I believe IATA have also sent out a similar memo. Could tzdatabase be updated please?
