The file... ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/tzdata2009p.tar.gz ...is now available; this reflects the Argentina (including San Luis) changes circulated on the time zone mailing list last week (with the correction from Mariano Absatz). Now that 2009p has all the changes affecting current stamps, I'll be moving on to stuff affecting past and future time stamps. Expect a 2009q next week, but if you're only interested in current stuff, 2009p should do the job. --ado

I found there are some mistakes for the historial DST rule for Hong Kong. Accoring to the DST record from Hong Kong Observatory (actually, it is not a observatory, but the official meteorological agency of HK, and also serves as the official timing agency), there are some missing and incorrect rules. Although the exact switch over time is missing, I think 3:30 is correct. The official DST record for Hong Kong can be obtained from http://www.hko.gov.hk/gts/time/Summertime.htm. Mistakes I found: - DST records before 1946 are missing (note: during 1942-1945 (WWII) Hong Kong is under Japanese occupation, and Hong Kong is put into DST for whole year, which would make HKT "in sync" with Japan. Regards, The Argentinian DST time change for Oct-19 was *not* done in the whole country; several Provinces did *not* change the clocks. Is this the reason why tzdata2009o doesn't contain these changes? (just guessing, I need to ask) Thanks -- Pablo Nazar

Argentina DST change.

As you may know, the time zone change to DST time in Argentina was not realized last sunday October 18th. Even though the file southamerica file in current tzdata compilation is right, the DST change in my country is only taken yearly under a political presidential decreet (per decreet basis).
