The GNSO Council had in June 2021 initiated the Expedited Policy Development Process on Internationalized Domain Names (EPDP on IDNs) to provide it with policy recommendations on the definition of all generic top-level domains (gTLDs); management of variant labels; and how the IDN Implementation Guidelines should be updated in the future. Given the particular importance of IDNs for the Asia-Pacific region given its linguistic and cultural diversity, the APRALO Policy Forum has, in association with the At-Large Capacity Building Working Group (CBWG), organized this introductory Webinar on IDNs to assist in building the capacity of our RALO members and other interested At-Large members to engage meaningfully in the work of the EPDP on IDNs. The webinar will provide attendees with an introductory understanding of IDNs from an end-user perspective, and will cover topics such as the basic concepts; the work done on IDNs since its launch in 2011; the process of delegation of IDNs into the Root Zone; IDN Variants and their management; IDN-based aspects of Subsequent Procedures; and the context of the EPDP on IDNs. ICANN72 to be Virtual Annual General Meeting, ICANN73 Planning Update

Just in case you missed . --------------------------------------- LOS ANGELES - 15 July 2021 Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that ICANN72 will convene as a Virtual Annual General Meeting due to the continuing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of the ICANN community and staff is always a top priority, and as such, holding ICANN72 as an in-person or hybrid meeting would not be feasible by its scheduled date. The resolution and full rationale from the ICANN Board of Directors can be found here. This Public Meeting was initially scheduled to be held in Seattle, United States of America, from 23 to 28 October 2021. ICANN72 Virtual Annual General Meeting will take place in the Pacific Daylight Time zone (UTC -7) but the exact dates may change slightly following consultation with ICANN community leadership. Request for feedback: FY22 Action Plan for UASG

Dear all, Please find attached the UASG’s Draft FY22 Action Plan for your review. This action plan incrementally builds on the FY21 Action Plan, and incudes the input from the various UASG working groups on the work to be done in the coming year from July 2021 till June 2022. In addition, the plan also expands the list of stakeholders for UASG. The UASG’s FY22 Action Plan will also be posted on uasg.tech website shortly.
