Skype Virus: Need for an Advisory

Dear Dev and friends I had a request from Maureen on a Skype-based malware that sent a spam link to her entire contact list...a very embarrassing situation... It appears to be the one referred to here: https://blog.malwarebytes.com/cybercrime/2015/09/steer-clear-of-this-skype-… The actual spam message sent by the malware is as follows (with the recipient's name in the end): http://www.baidu.com/link?url=re04XeZ54BcvMs5I6_h3T8T9xfWdghVSpFxRxyoq3zW#j… Would it be possible for TTF (once the Hyderabad rush is over), to send out an Advisory for At-Large on how to avoid this malware ? satish

HI All, I was off for the Jewish holidays and it seems that Glenn many have sent out an earlier version of the newsletter. Most of the content was there but it was cleaned up and some typos corrected. Here is the correct version of the English language version. I was waiting to send it out when the Spanish and French versions were ready, but they took longer than planned and I was off email the last two days. Thanks. Also the electrical plugs is a good idea and sorry I did not think of it but for the past month I have been out 2 days each week for the Jewish Holidays and had to fit in my work for all 5 days into 3 days each week for past 4 weeks. One of the outputs of that meeting was an ATLAS II Declaration, ratified by our community by acclamation and transmitted to the ICANN Board. But recommendations are one thing. Implementation of these recommendations are another. The ATLAS II Implementation Task Force picked up the Declaration, fleshed it out, coordinated action items with At-Large working groups, task forces, sub-committees, RALOs and individuals, as well as other ICANN departments, to expand the recommendations, file them and implement them. The results are very impressive: out of 43 recommendations, 34 (80%) have been addressed and implementation has taken place or is in the process of taking place. 9 (20%) are either unsuitable for implementation or require further clarification, consultation, and follow-up with relevant parties. This is all thanks to the amazing amount of work that has been furnished over the past two years by a few working groups and individuals, so kudos to them! We plan to be sending the final report on implementation of the recommendations to the Board very soon, possibly for ICANN 57 in Hyderabad.
