Test your browser config if it launches Zoom automatically with camera and mic enabled

The security researcher Jonathan Leitschuh who publicly disclosed the Zoom security vulnerability has noted that depending on your browser setting on whether to always open Zoom links with the associated app is on, a malicious webpage (that could be hidden in a iframe) can automatically launch Zoom with your camera enabled without asking. This is true for Windows as well as for Mac for Firefox and Chrome browsers. As he noted in his tweet at https://twitter.com/JLLeitschuh/status/1149123386855104516 Here is a Proof of Concept Link to see whether Zoom will autolaunch with your camera and mic enabled : https://jlleitschuh.org/zoom_vulnerability_poc/zoompwn_iframe.html If your browser settings are set to always these type of Zoom links with the associated app, you *will* be automatically launched into a Zoom conference with your camera enabled. Hello all, discussions are heating up on the topic of Zoom both in NCSG mailing list, and on the EURALO discuss mailing list. Isn't this issue more urgent than waiting for a future TTF call, the date of which is, at present, not even set? At least a call from the TTF to ICANN Tech Team to write a Blog of what their risk assessment is, with regards to this conferencing technology? In the meantime, conversations about this are springing up on several other mailing lists... Look at the timeline in the Medium post. They only sought to fix it after the vulnerability drew media attention. Adobe Connect was not perfect but it met our needs and the occasional security issues that arose were promptly fixed by Adobe and never as serious as this one! Platform for Working Group on Internet Governance

Dear colleagues, in Marrakesh, the Cross Community Engagement Group on Internet Governance discussed its future with the Board Working Group on Internet Governance. The decision was to use the Engagement Group as a platform for sharing information about Internet Governance. We already do that using email. Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of parallel tracks and we often drop the ball, or lose a track altogether. My enquiry is as follows: the Engagement Group on Internet Governance has a LOT of different tracks that are being followed, from IGF, to CSTD, UN General Assembly, ITU, WTO, etc. etc. So many tracks, that sometimes the history of what is happening in these global conferences is being lost - there are just too many threads. We've tried putting the threads on WIKI pages, but we are faced with two hurdles: 1. many people in the working group are not versed in editing WIKIs. 2. staff does not have time to update WIKIs given the multiplication of threads. We do not have a "curator" to make sense of the avalanche of information that's coming our way. As a result, what I wanted to ask you is whether you can recommend any tool that would help with our ability to track several threads and make these easily accessible to participants, including historical perspectives, without creating an undue amount of work for ourselves. Our problem is basically one of Knowledge Management. Kindest regards, Olivier
