HI Maureen, I agree that this is the target group, and it is a good use of the money. It is just the process of how they are going about this, which I think is wrong. When they did it to balance the budget, they said it was a one time event, and they would let the others go through the method that the Committee had laid out. I do not remember us discussing this wondering what others thought of this use. ALAC Procedures for filing comments and objections in the Next gTLD Round

Dear OFB-WG members, As *introduced <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/349667330/20240626v1%20ALA…> *during the OFB-WG call of 27 June 2024 (https://community.icann.org/x/AoDXF) the OFB-WG is tasked with a review of the ALAC Procedures for filing comments and objection in the Next Round of New gTLDs. In particular, the OFB-WG will work on considering whether any changes are needed to these ALAC procedures, with the goal of providing text changes (if any, apart from updating reference to dates etc) before ICANN81 to ICANN org support staff for onward action, vis a vis the Subsequent Procedures Implementation Review Team (SubPro IRT), for incorporation into the next Applicant Guidebook (either directly or by reference). Point 27 has multilateral been added among a few other words/ We recognize that the governance of the Internet must remain global in nature, with the full involvement of all states and other stakeholders in accordance with the Tunis Agenda. We reaffirm *multilateral *and multistakeholder approaches to Internet governance and the central role of the Internet Governance Forum for multistakeholder discussion on public policy issues related to the Internet, as well as the NETmundial principles.
