The second component includes the PTI budget plus additional programs and costs that the ICANN organization incurs overseeing and enabling the IANA functions. In addition to the webinars, the community has further opportunity to participate in this planning process. The draft plans will be put out for Public Comment in September before being considered for formal adoption in late 2021.

[image: ICANN Announcement Alerts] *ICANN Publishes FY21 Q2 Unaudited Financial Results <https://newsalerts.icann.org/a0200P022C0800BEGRNv0gd>* 16 February 2021 LOS ANGELES – 15 February 2021 – On 10 February 2021, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) published its unaudited financial results through the second quarter of fiscal year 2021. The ICANN financials are available here <https://newsalerts.icann.org/wR8EN0dCP0000g2C0022H0v>. In addition, on 1 February 2021, Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) published its unaudited financial results through the second quarter of fiscal year 2021. The PTI financials are available here <https://newsalerts.icann.org/j2DR022PC00080gNEdI0v00>. ICANN remains in a strong financial position despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Through December 2020, ICANN's actual funding is in line with prior years. Moreover, expenses have been lower than prior years primarily due to travel restrictions. Please see both sets of financials for more details. ICANN and PTI publish quarterly financials in an effort to be transparent and accountable. The financial results have been published quarterly for many years but the accompanying announcement is a new measure meant to create more awareness of the results, which are usually posted 45 days after the quarter end. About ICANN ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world. About PTI Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) is an affiliate of ICANN responsible for performing the IANA functions, which include management of the DNS root zone, the global IP address space and other protocol parameters that support Internet operation. PTI was formed in 2016 following a transition of stewardship to the multistakeholder community that relies upon the IANA functions. PTI performs the IANA functions under contract from ICANN.
