Article proposes end of DST, adds interesting historic reference
Interesting/amusing article on Fox News this morning (using the wayback machine link to reduce the oppressive spam: https://web.archive.org/web/20171104061246/http://www.foxnew s.com/opinion/2017/11/04/its-time-for-daylight-saving-time- to-fall-back-forever.html The best part was a link to an old gizmodo article containing a well-researched historical reference to Ben Franklin's original proposal for a DST-like policy: https://gizmodo.com/ben-franklins-daylight-saving-time-proposal-was-writte- 1456363759 Further clicking led me to the full letter from Ben: http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/franklin3.html which I think is tz-art worthy. Good idea; thanks. Although that copy of Ben's joke has typos, it's the most-accessible copy and I suppose it's good enough. I also tracked down an image of the first publication of Franklin's joke (in French! I assume he translated it himself) and installed the attached proposed patch.
