I did a good deal of research into the time zones of Kazakhstan in 2005. I sent my discoveries to the tz mailing list at the time. You can easily find them now in the osdir archive. Look at http://osdir.com/ml/time.tz/2005-05/msg00040.html. That should help you with your task. Gwillim Law ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eric Muller" <emuller@adobe.com>
I am trying to clarify the geographical extent of tz timezones. [...] ---- Kazakhstan, using the names at <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakstan#Provinces>. Is it correct that:
Asia/Almaty = Kostanay, Karagandy, South Kaz and everything east of them Asia/Qyzylorda = Kyzylorda Asia/Aqtobe = Aktobe Asia/Aqtau = Mangystau Asia/Oral = West Kazakhstan
The Atyrau province is not mentioned explictly, and given its location, it should be in one of the last three time zones, but which one?
