Dear Jose: Good idea to claim for support, but... I particularly think that last paragraph of your statement is not representative of the feelings the regional leaders, mine specially. I think we need try to get a stable and periodic, end users Summit with representation of all ALS acredited around the world. Say that this is only for one time, odd and an solidarity action, in my opinion, is like to say we are asking this for us and for anybody more in the future, and this sounds really bad. I want congratulate you for the document but I want to mention an special "not agree" with the last part of it. In my point of view, and on the other side, Solidarity : is the opposite, is to think in us right now, and who are coming in the future also. is think in our region, and in the others too. Greetings. ALAC appreciates the efforts of ICANN Financial Team, having joined six members for each ALAC region and have taken into account and heard the importance of conducting the General Assemblies for each RALO region. So we hope that dialogue will continue in future operational plans and budgets, making possible, for the next ICANN meeting, all regions have their general assemblies, prevented this time by not having budget enough to become reality. The leaders of the various regions of ALAC, in solidarity to fellows from AFRALO have emerged, for the purpose of putting in a common fund, with a proposal to use the budget of 6 members representing each RALO´s ALS, issued by ICANN regions in the 2012 budget, to allow AFRALO to carry out its General Assembly at the scheduled meeting of ICANN in the city of Dakar, Republic of Senegal, in October this year. It is important to highlight the need for ALL regions making their general assemblies each year. For this reason and in this context of solidarity towards the growth of all regions, we raised this proposal. However, we also want to express as ALAC, that we recognize we are the weakest link in the ICANN´s economic power chain, and for this reason that in terms of equal opportunity to participate, we understand that this act of solidarity should be understood as an example of willingness, but also as a unique and unrepeatable event, since it must be "exceptional" and can never be taken as valid precedent and therefore become a rule in the budget for the general assemblies of all regions. Our statement shows, once again, the necessity and importance of the General Assemblies for the different RALOS, which are merely needs of the regions to contribute to ICANN.
