All, The mission for the UASG was always been to support theconcept that all domain names should be treated equally and has evolved toinclude email addresses (including Email Address Internationalization). Inspiteof the extensive support of ICANN and so qualified experts engaged from pastfour years in UASG we were still not able to achieve the desired awareness anddocumentations which would have helped adoption of UA, IDN’s and EAI. Available information and documents on uasg.tech do notaddress all open questions and the effort does not reflect a “missionaccomplished.” Infact the efforts and deliverables to date from theexisting administrative group is not at all visible. What I as membersof UASG community expect from new administrative group: - They must lead with example and make clear Commitment to make their own businesses / organizations Universal acceptance ready without any more delay. - Effectively impart the value and potential benefits of adopting UA outside of a small set of engaged providers and must have a help/support available for them. - Dedicate their team and official’s to advocate the concepts of UA and encourage its adoption widely in every region. - Dedicate their complete focus on IDN and EAI. These are very important efforts within the UA agenda and should get substantial resources / industry experts for its further expansion of supporting technologies. - Develop meaningful materials to provide quality guidance for implementers and solution providers. - Use UASG funds wisely in outreach, communications and awareness component of IDNs, EAI, which has completely lacked over the past four years. Hi Alexey Thought provoking mail early morning, it truly wakening to me. So true, in last four years we never assessed that the contribution of every individual holding positions of Chair and Vice Chairs in UA administrative group were completely unsuccessful to do any justice with the position as their own organizations have not shown any positive move towards UA adoption, it extremely force me to believe that we were having a very week leadership of UASG. If we would have strong leaders with vision, creativity and, most importantly, the ability to influence others to support them in the challenges of moving an organisation into unchartered territory they would have not failed in this mission internally atleast. I do agree that present members of UA administrative group fail to stand behind those decisions after they have already been made by them. A good leadership keeps an open mind, considers all different points of view, and makes decisions with confidence. Hesitation and second-guessing only lead to a lack of support from followers and ultimate failure which is visible in whatever has happened in UASG in last four years. I second everything you mentioned in your email and will be open to give chance this time to completely new team who can commit to achieve UASG mission, the reason we learn about history in school is so that we don’t repeat the mistakes from our pasts. It is also morning for me. And I must say I am very discouraged by the harsh criticism in the UASG emails. Four years ago there was NOTHING. Not one document. No outreach, not even a list of the problems. The leaders have put forward their best efforts. I challenge everyone *complaining* about UASG leadership to go through the meeting notes, annual reports, etc then write a list of everything accomplished, and hours volunteered. Also note which of those items you may have accomplished. Then I challenge you to make a plan for how YOU are going to fix the outstanding issues, since this is a volunteer effort. The world is harsh enough- we really don’t need this level of unsubstantiated negativity targeted at a small group of people doing their best to work on A Very Big Problem. I challenge everyone complaining about UASG leadership to go through the meeting notes, annual reports, etc then write a list of everything accomplished, and hours volunteered. Also note which of those items you may have accomplished. Then I challenge you to make a plan for how YOU are going to fix the outstanding issues, since this is a volunteer effort. Dedicate their team and official’s to advocate the concepts of UA and encourage its adoption widely in every region. 4. Dedicate their complete focus on IDN and EAI. These are very important efforts within the UA agenda and should get substantial resources / industry experts for its further expansion of supporting technologies. 5. Develop meaningful materials to provide quality guidance for implementers and solution providers. 6. Use UASG funds wisely in outreach, communications and awareness component of IDNs, EAI, which has completely lacked over the past four years. I suggest everyone in the group must genuinely think and then support any individual for any position chair/vice-chairs, there is no impairment if we seriously think to have a very strong dedicated and focused individuals now in the administrative group so that what we were unable to achieve in last four years do not happen again. What we should consider is to give chance to those strong think tanks who can help internet community on bringing the mission of Universal Acceptance to a strong and successful result.
