Hi Seda, Thanks for your message. One question: How many vice chairs we should select? One suggestion: could you kindly make a table and summarise the candidates’ information, such as listing the candidates’ company’s name (affiliations), simple expertises of each candidate, current working locations, promise/working aims,….. If we have such a table, we can easily select the best candidate for the UA. Best Regards Jiankang Yao

Dear Seda Aside Jiankang views I also want to add here You mentioned: In response to your question, as per the Voting Method on https://uasg.tech/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/UASG-Election-Process-2023-onwa...; for the vice chair positions, each voter will be asked to cast their vote for their top three choices. For the Vice-Chair position, election will be done using a simple majority, and top three candidates will be elected. I propose that for the vice chair positions, each voter be asked to vote for their top three choices; however, it should not be mandatory to make at least three selections; if anyone wants to make only one or two selections, they should have the freedom to do so and should not be forced to vote for at least three candidates. The UASG must chose the top two candidates who receive the most votes/support from the UASG community for vice chair, and the third candidate should only be elected if he receives at least 25% of the total votes cast. This cannot be proper if the third candidate receives only a few votes and is unjustly elected against the wishes of the UASG community. First off, I'm pleased to see that many members of the UASG community have stepped forward and offered to serve in leadership roles, representing a variety of cultural backgrounds. All the best to you, everyone. This is especially for Abdalmonem Galila and U.B. Pavanaja, our current UASG Vice Chairs. Thank you both for offering yourselves again as candidates to be the again vice chair of the UASG. We appreciate both of you reiterating your candidature for vice chair of the UASG. Gallia, you still have some proven commitment to UASG and a history of working hard to realise its objectives. Although Pavanaja I haven't noticed much of a contribution from you over the last two years; you weren't frequently present at working group and other meetings. I haven't noticed any noteworthy contributions from your end in the prior UASG leadership attempts to accomplish the UASG mission. Before I cast my vote,I would appreciate knowing your from both of you, your individual top 5 significant contributions to the UASG over the course of your current two year term. What unique contribution have you made individually to remove the current barriers to universal acceptance? What you have done in your region and organization to remove the current barriers to universal acceptance, any success story? Please send a reply with a copy to ua-discuss. Your response could help all UASG community members to make their decision and lead to a lively conversation on the list. I'm hoping to see your responses. Thank you very much! Dear Gallia I appreciate your prompt response; nevertheless, I had hoped for a slightly more lucid one. If UASG.TECH had all the information I needed, I wouldn't have needed to ask you both. Anyway, I appreciate you encouraging me to see the Uasg.tech page again because today I have a very different perspective, and I think I understand it now what’s happening till now? Dear Sarmad and Seda, After visiting https://uasg.tech/about/people/ today, I now think that ensuring a conflict of interest is crucial for every leadership role. I was shocked to learn that many people hold numerous leadership roles within the UASG. How are these leadership positions, such as vice chair of the UASG, chair of one working group, vice chair of another working group, and UA ambassadors, justified? What is happening is that UASG is not abiding by the conflict of interest policies and procedures. How can one person justify holding so many different positions at once? Is there not enough community support for UASG's leadership positions, shortage of right candidates? Dear Mr. Jain, i hope as a new chair now you will make sure that such blunders dont happen in your term. Thank you very much! Hello Wijayawardhana Me Requesting to share your social media connect twitter, Facebook, lankedin or any website. It's important to disclose who you are while asking to know more about other. When you are asking details about Mr. galila , the person who contributed in UASG since many years in different roles. Voters are supposed to vote based on SOI and no candidate can be forced to respond and address each individual query. ICANN or UASG can excuse me if I am not correct. I have been following the UASG work and great progress has happened. Best way to contribute is to stand for leadership and become park or working groups. Hope to meet you in virtual meeting soon.
Are you part of any WG ?

Dear All, As we have many repeating requests from different members of UASG asking who is who in this mailing list, probably it's the right time for UASG to set a special procedure for all members to download their Statement of Interest before joining the group. It could be done through Google form or any similar tool and all SOI should be published on the uasg.tech with annual update (before each election process). Hope it helps.
Wijayawardhana

Hi all I was under the impression that UASG was operating under the umbrella of ICANN. As far as I know, all ICANN working groups have as a requirement to compile (and maintain) an SOI. Recently, as both Michele and Maria know, to compile an SOI is a requirement even for being a RALO Individual Member. Honestly, I don’t see what would make UASG different - unless people feel that UASG is not part of ICANN ecosystem, and will therefore operate under different rules. That people should not be obliged to compile and maintain multiple SOIs is something that goes without saying - again, the EURALO Individual Members are an example, as we accept a GNSO SOI as valid for At-Large, and not requiring duplication. Pointers to a single repository should do the job. I am curious to hear any objections to such obligation - maybe there are valid reasons that I have not thought about, in that case I may change my mind. Dear All, I second the Maria’s idea on SOI with amendment made in the group that is having a link that points to her/her profile. The argument that someone running for leadership has his/her work on UA/UASG/Working Groups known for years does not fly because, we have new people joining our cause every. And in a democratic election process, it is the obligation of a candidate to present the profile of her candidature. And in this platform it is the responsibility of the candidate to present himself or herself to us voters so we access the candidate and at vote On Thu, 6 Apr 2023 at 21:40 Mark Datysgeld via UA-discuss < ua-discuss@icann.org> wrote:

Hello Wijayawardhana
Me Requesting to share your social media connect twitter, Facebook, lankedin or any website.
Are you part of any WG ?

Wijayawardhana

Dear Galila, As a leader please go back to your reply to Wijayawardhana and rethink it. The tone does sound right in my opinion. Our common target is achieving the goals of UA. And if one is running for leadership, voter reserve the right to ask all sorts of questions and it incumbent upon the candidate to reply to questions asked in a manner that shows and or projects leadership qualit(ies) Thanks On Wed, 5 Apr 2023 at 10:38 Abdalmonem Galila via UA-discuss < ua-discuss@icann.org> wrote:
