Hello, I'm find glitches with the UASG election shared document, explicitly the Chair voting period. Election for Chair: March 8-20, 2023 (10-day voting period): The beginning of the chair elections has been announced. Please keep in mind that the majority of us will be travelling and busy in ICANN76 from March 9th to March 20th, 2023, thus voting period dates should be chosen to exclude the ICANN76 period or provide for some more time in the start and end dates. It could fall between March 6th and March 25th, 2023. This will be interest of all UASG community members so that they get appropriate time for casting their vote and making selection of suitable candidate. Hi, I agree with Pongpen Sutharoj that there are concerns specifically for the Chair voting period of March 8-20, 2023 (10-day voting period), voting period dates should be chosen to omit the ICANN76 period or to provide for additional time in the start and end dates. I suggest Voting should start for all position only after ICANN76. I agree with you and honestly i am a little shocked that why UASG secretariat overlooked these crucial dates during the announcement. Voting should not happen during ICANN76 and the travel period; dates must be reevaluated, and all voting must begin after March 20, 2023. It makes sense and is true that voting cannot take place during the ICANN76 period since there is a significant scheduling conflict. A clear 10-day window must be provided to allow for fair and transparent voting post ICANN76. Hello,
I'm find glitches with the UASG election shared document, explicitly the Chair voting period.
Regards

Is it possible to view the candidate profiles on any site? What is the purpose of the election? Apologies, I am new. Here to follow the development of full unicode domain naming, and I didn't know any election or what powers are being bestowed, or even if there are any controversial issues within this working group. If anyone wants to proselytize to me, feel free. Mehta +1 306 244 2650 Saskatoon, Canada On Mon, Feb 20, 2023 at 7:31 AM Seda Akbulut via UA-discuss < ua-discuss@icann.org> wrote:

Mehta: Welcome to the UASG! It is good to have more people who are interested in helping make globally inclusive domain names and email addresses accepted universally. And, I personally am glad to see another Canadian posting here.
Is it possible to view the candidate profiles on any site?
Not yet. There are not yet any candidates. This email thread is a call for nominations. Once the nominations are all received, I expect you will see candidate profiles posted.
What is the purpose of the election?
To elect the top leaders of this group, the Universal Acceptance Steering Group. For more information about the duties of these leaders, and the election process, look at the Operational Documents section of the UASG website <https://uasg.tech/operational-documents/>. Download and read the first three documents there, which have "UASG Election" and "2023" in their links. If you have questions about the candidates or issues, you are welcome to post questions (as separate threads, with distinct Subject: lines) to ua-discuss@icann.org .
