A lot will depend on the audience Years ago LinkedIn Groups seemed to have some traction, whereas these days they’re mostly fairly dead. Facebook groups can work well. But ultimately moving this conversation outside of email isn’t going to help too much. We need to get web developers, designers, UX people etc., engaged and aware, so the audience is much broader than people who knowingly delve into this space Regards Michele -- Mr Michele Neylon Blacknight Solutions Hosting, Colocation & Domains https://www.blacknight.com/ http://blacknight.blog/ Intl. +353 (0) 59 9183072 Direct Dial: +353 (0)59 9183090 Personal blog: https://michele.blog/ Some thoughts: https://ceo.hosting/ ------------------------------- Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, Unit 12A,Barrowside Business Park,Sleaty Road,Graiguecullen,Carlow,R93 X265,Ireland Company No.: 370845 From: <ua-discuss-bounces@icann.org> on behalf of Jim DeLaHunt <jdlh@jdlh.com> Date: Friday 24 February 2017 at 09:31 To: "ua-discuss@icann.org" <UA-discuss@icann.org> Subject: Re: [UA-discuss] Universal Acceptance LinkedIn Group Jean: I run a couple of LinkedIn groups. My experience is that LinkedIn is a terrible host for groups. It is hard to administer, and lacks good features. And, with any new group, you have the issue of informing people it exists, and persuading people to join it. I think you have a good idea to move our message beyond this email list. We should take it to where the people are who need to hear it. Another possible way to achieve that is to identify existing groups, which already have the people we want to reach. We could join those groups, and add our ideas to their discussion. --Jim DeLaHunt, Vancouver, Canada On 2017-02-24 00:47, Jean (Jovenet Consulting) wrote: Do you think it makes sense to create a LinkedIn group on Universal Acceptance? The idea is to "spread the message" without this group to be a poor copy-paste of what already is in this discussion list. It took me years to bring the new gTLD group to 2,500 members so this project makes sense if there is participation. Now: what is participation? Questions: 1. Does it make sense to create such group 2. What should the purpose of this group: * Post announcements of recent updates from https://uasg.tech/ ? * Post examples of use? 1. Which guidelines? (I'll make this simple) 2. Will you participate? Happy to receive feedback on this idea. -- [https://docs.google.com/a/jovenet.consulting/uc?id=0B6wDdOxDNxFwRXAxNGlsSnd3...] Jean Guillon 8 Boulevard du Général De Gaulle 92120 Montrouge France Phone: +33.631109837 Skype & Twitter: jeanguillon Web: www.jovenet.consulting<http://www.jovenet.consulting> -- --Jim DeLaHunt, jdlh@jdlh.com<mailto:jdlh@jdlh.com> http://blog.jdlh.com/ (http://jdlh.com/) multilingual websites consultant 157-2906 West Broadway, Vancouver BC V6K 2G8, Canada Canada mobile +1-604-376-8953
