Jordan DST out by a day since 2002 ?
Hi there, I think I may have spotted an error in the timezone data for Jordan. The current (2009d) asia file shows Jordan going to daylight saving time on the last Thursday in March. Rule Jordan 2000 max - Mar lastThu 0:00s 1:00 S However timeanddate.com, which I usually find reliable, shows Jordan going to daylight saving time on the last Friday in March since 2002. Please see http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone.html?n=11 Thursday, 28 March 2002, 23:59:59 No +2 hours EET Friday, 29 March 2002, 01:00:00 1 hour +3 hours EEST DST starts ... Thursday, 26 March 2009, 23:59:59 No +2 hours EET Friday, 27 March 2009, 01:00:00 1 hour +3 hours EEST DST starts Cheers, Phil.
Since both Jordan and Palestine were supposed to begin DST last week: can anyone on the list with a presence in either location report (exactly) what actually happened? Thanks for any light you can shed. --ado

Jordan has changed between Thursday and Friday a while. This year's announcement is here: http://www.petra.gov.jo/Artical.aspx?Lng=1&Section=1&Artical=95303
Amman, March 24 (Petra)--Jordan will switch back to summertime (daylight saving time) on Friday, March 27, according to a communique issues by Prime Minister Nader Dahabi on March 16. Clocks will be set forward by one hour, placing the Kingdom three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
I will try to get back with links for previous years as well. Best regards, Steffen - timeanddate.com

This single one might be good enough, (2009-03-24, Arabic): http://petra.gov.jo/Artical.aspx?Lng=2&Section=8&Artical=95279 Google's translation:
The Council of Ministers decided in 2002 to adopt the principle of timely submission of the summer at 60 minutes as of midnight on the last Thursday of the month of March of each year.
So - this means the midnight between Thursday and Friday. Best regards, -- Steffen - timeanddate.com

So, doesn't this mean that the TZDB rules are wrong: Rule Jordan 2000 max - Mar lastThu 0:00s 1:00 S Stephen
