Proposed update to tz-link.htm for Microsoft Windows
Please find attached a patch which contains more specific information about time zone support in Microsoft Windows. In particular, I'm correcting the previous information which stated that the Windows time zone format was undocumented. I've provided links to all of the relevant documentation. I've also clarified the use of TZ data in the new Windows Runtime APIs. The previous text made it sound like DateTimeFormatter can perform CLDR conversions, which it cannot. Please let me know if there are any suggested revisions. Thanks, Matt
Thanks for those changes. I pushed them into the experimental version. After reading them I thought it better to coalesce the two sections about Microsoft Windows and trim them down a bit to focus on the tz part. Also, I found a trailing space and this prompted me to improve our anomalous white space checking. So I pushed the attached two additional patches as well.
The revisions look ok, but I had thought it made sense to talk specifically about the proprietary Windows data in the "Other time zone databases" section - as Microsoft does indeed research and maintain their own data for this. Also, it would be nice if at least somewhere in the text pointed at the official support page for it:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst -Matt

Yes, it'd make sense put a cross-reference there, or perhaps it's time to reorganize tz-link.htm (but that's a bigger project). Might as well mention HP-UX while we're at it. Further patch attached.

I think I'd rather leave that one out. We don't have support links for anybody else (Android, Apple, Oracle, Red Hat, etc., etc.), and adding support links for everybody would be a maintenance burden for us and overkill for readers. These days time zone support is all automated anyway, no? (Here's where I duck to avoid tomatoes being thrown....).
