Morocco rule to suspend DST for RAMADAN
Hi, We are facing again a small change on the period for which Morocco will suspend DST. The rule actually applied on our system is : Morocco will temporarily switch to standard time at 03:00 the last Saturday before Ramadan, and back to DST at 02:00 the first Saturday after Ramadan. While in fact and according to the latest official decree the temporary DST suspension is as below : Morocco will temporarily switch to standard time at 03:00 the last Sunday before Ramadan, and back to DST at 02:00 the first Sunday after Ramadan. So Morocco will suspend DST from 2016-06-05 03:00 through 2016-07-10 02:00, not 06-04 and 07-09 as guessed. Is there a way to update the TZupdater in order to correct this. We really need to update it before 1st of June in order to publish our schedules correctly for the days 06-04 and 07-10. Thanks a lot, Best regards [Description : cid:image001.png@01D010AD.0526CD40] BENNANI Rhita Chef de Projet Département Commercial et Exploitation Direction Organisation et Systèmes d'Information +212 522 91 22 36 www.royalairmaroc.com<http://www.royalairmaroc.com/> [Description : cid:image001.jpg@01D01561.B1BD0430] <http://www.facebook.com/RoyalAirMaroc> [Description : cid:image002.jpg@01D01561.B1BD0430] <https://twitter.com/RAM_Maroc> [Description : cid:image003.jpg@01D01561.B1BD0430] <https://plus.google.com/116698608481885525601> [Description : Description : cid:image005.png@01D00B0B.40B7FD90]

The Sunday-to-Sunday DST suspension surrounding Ramadan, in effect in Morocco since 2015, was reflected in commit https://github.com/eggert/tz/commit/7f98dbf64f769b4591b0bab5453cc71b659cecd0 in our experimental repository and has been published since release 2015e of tz. (The latest version is 2016d.) Are you sure you're using the latest tzdata? -- Tim Parenti

It appears that your time zone data is older than tzdata 2015e, as 2015e corrects the problem with Morocco. To fix this you should update your time zone data, something that should be a normal part of operations. Details depend on your operating-system platform. For example, if you are running a recent version of Fedora you can run the shell command 'dnf update' as the superuser. You mention TZupdater, which suggests that you are using Oracle Java. If so, <http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/tzdata-versions-138805.html> says that you can fix the problem by upgrading to Oracle Java 8u60, 7u95, 6u111, or later. If you can't upgrade Oracle Java for some reason, you can install tzdata patches directly by following the instructions in <http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/tzupdater-readme-136440.html>. Usually, though, it should be simpler to install the packages already prepared by your operating-system supplier.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'll check again with our system provider. Kind regards Envoyé de mon iPhone
