Hi, I was wondering if there is any timeline for an update to address the changes in Russia? My understanding is we were blocked on knowing what name will be used after the change. Is that still the case? Thanks, Deborah
AFAIK this has still not been approved by the state duma with details. Also expect other nations to follow if Russia moves forward with the change as currently proposed / mandated. Hi, Any further news on Russia? Is there any expectation that this will be resolved soon? Or is it going to be months? Thanks, Deborah On Mar 18, 2011, at 12:34 PM, M3 Sweatt wrote:

The word from a researcher originally from Russia is that current time there is thought of as "permanent standard" rather than "permanent summer" or "permanent daylight" time. If no authoritative information comes in before next Wednesday, I hope to visit the Russian embassy and get something more official. Current time being considered standard does make for more work; we get to change each zone rather than changing only the Russia rules. Bottom line: expect Russian changes within thirty days. --ado
There is a proposal in State Duma to adopt Russian new Bill 509727-5 "On the Calculation of time" on April 19, 2011. The document, among other things, will provide the legislation to abolish Daylight Saving Time in Russia. According to RIA Novosti (in Russian) http://www.rian.ru/society/20110405/361331774.html and State Duma documents (in Russian): http://asozd2.duma.gov.ru/main.nsf/(SpravkaNew)?OpenAgent&RN=509727-5 Alexander Krivenyshev, http://www.worldtimezone.com --- On Fri, 4/15/11, Deborah Goldsmith <goldsmit@apple.com> wrote:
