Senators approved DST in Argentina
The Senate approved the DST proposal with 57 votes to 3: http://www.telam.com.ar/vernota.php?tipo=N <http://www.telam.com.ar/vernota.php?tipo=N&idPub=87422&id=201118&dis=1&sec= 1> &idPub=87422&id=201118&dis=1&sec=1 The article says that the measure is now being processed by "Deputados", to be approved today. I still haven't seen the text of the proposal that they are voting about, and especially it is not clear what is meant in news articles about "from 30.th of December" which to me would be 2007-12-30 0:00 and "starting midnight of 30.th. December" which to me means 2007-12-30 24:00 or rather 2007-12-31 0:00. I agree that without further information it is probably more likely to be 2007-12-30 0:00 as Paul Eggert has proposed for a tz database change. But the actual text of the (future) law would be helpful. As Daniel pointed out in a previous message, you can download it from http://www.senado.gov.ar/web/proyectos/verExpe.php?origen=PE&tipo=PL&numexp=... (the actual PDF is at http://www.senado.gov.ar/web/proyectos/ver_adjunto_pdf.php?clave=F2104766633... it's an awful image scan). Translation: The summer period corresponding to year 2007/2008, will start a ZERO (0) HOUR on Sunday, December 30th, 2007 and will extend until ZERO (0) HOUR on Sunday, March 16th, 2008. We use a 24 hour clock here, and zero hour means 0:00, that is the midnight where the day STARTS rather than ends, so the change starts at midnight between Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th. -- Mariano Absatz - "El Baby" baby@baby.com.ar -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ambivalent?
