Today the California Senate rejected Assembly Bill 385, which would have placed a measure on the state ballot asking voters whether to cancel daylight saving time. This is the bill that prompted me to fix some historical inaccuracies in tzdata's Los Angeles entry a few days ago. Sen. Jim Nelson (R-Gerber) voted against the bill, arguing that farmers benefit from DST. He said, "Our crops have gotten accustomed to that.
