That remind me when Japanese government decided to hurriedly switch from the old Japanese calendar to Gregorian calendar back in 19th century because there was a leap month coming soon in the Japanese calendar and they could avoid the that extra 13th month pay by changing the nation's calendar to one that without leap month to lessen the burden of the country's treasure 2018-10-28 04:39, Clive D.W. I've worked at places that used 13 4-week pay periods rather than paying us monthly. That doesn't require a calendar change.
I'd also seen a version of this where January, April, July, October, and December have 31 days and the other seven months 30 days. 30th and 31st December are both Saturdays. In leap years there's a 31st June that's also a Saturday.
