The same typo is in the government's statement on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pressofficetcig/posts/1420271834735165 I asked for clarification there. I'm inclined to believe it is November 4th, 2018, given their previous statement: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/turks-and-caicos-post-cabinet-meeting-sta... "Following extensive public consultation which concluded in favour of change, agreed to the reintroduction in TCI of Daylight Saving Time (DST) during the summer months and Standard Time, also known as Local Time, during the winter months with effect from April 2018 to allow sufficient time to notify the public and relevant local and international organisations of the change." Seems they've moved the date forward, but hopefully the "sufficient time" part is still in play. :) -Matt ________________________________ From: tz-bounces@iana.org <tz-bounces@iana.org> on behalf of Robert Elz <kre@munnari.OZ.AU> Sent: Monday, October 30, 2017 9:39 PM To: Paul Eggert Cc: Time zone mailing list Subject: Re: [tz] Turks & Caicos to resume DST; details unclear Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2017 21:05:55 -0700 From: Paul Eggert <eggert@cs.ucla.edu> Message-ID: <a5f09c78-fb79-3249-27f2-3a6139ac940f@cs.ucla.edu> | This doesn't sound plausible, since in 2018 the US is scheduled to switch | back on November 4. Presumably the "November 5" is a typo. Either that, or the 2018 is a typo and they mean 2017. While we'd all like decisions like this to me made and announced 15 months in advance, that isn't typical politician behaviour, 3 months would be more typical. kre
