Please don't use glaringly ambiguous date notations like "10-8-2000" (anywhere, ever)! If hyphens are used to separate the numbers, the assumption is (I hope) that ISO-8601-style decreasing-magnitude notation is being used. So 10-29 is fine, but 10-29-2000 and, worse, 10-8-2000 are not! --Alex
