After prolonged debate, and despite continuing deep differences of opinion, Wayne County (central Kentucky) is switching from Central (-0600) to Eastern (-0500) time. They won't "fall back" this year when daylight savings time ends in the US on 29 October 2000. Wayne County residents have strong links to nearby Kentucky cities in the Eastern time zone.
