Hmmm, at least T&D says Crozet is UTC+5 while TZDB says UTC+4. Which is in error?
I asked a French-speaking friend to look into this, and he said tzdb appears to be correct, at least as of 2014. He inferred Crozet's UTC offset from this blog:
http://www.taaf.fr/Journal-de-bord-du-Marion-Dufresne-Novembre-2014-OP3
"Samedi 15 novembre 2014 ... Tiens, pour revenir sur terre, à minuit on change de fuseau horaire : +1. Surtout ne pas oublier, histoire de ne pas rater le petit-déjeuner. ... Petite annonce : dans la nuit on change de fuseau horaire (avancer les montres d’une heure – temps universel + 5) donc la nuit sera plus courte. ..." states UTC+5 so assuming that is correct Indian/Kerguelen which is also in the antarctic part of the French TOM Territoire d'Outre-Mer TAAF Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises (ISO 3166 TF gTLD .tf) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Southern_and_Antarctic_Lands https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/fs.html https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/maps/fs... makes sense, although the permanently populated administrative centre in Indian/Reunion is closer in longitude! These sites seems to have the same opinion: https://www.annuaire-mairie.fr/mairie-archipel-des-crozet.html#geographie https://www.citipedia.info/region/general/French+Southern+Territories_Crozet... https://www.citipedia.info/region/general/French+Southern+Territories_Crozet https://www.horlogeparlante.com/heure-archipel-des-crozet-terres-australes-e... and mention Indian/Kerguelen. However this site differs: http://ilescrozet.blogspot.ca/2014/10/photo-de-la-semaine-44.html "lundi 27 octobre 2014 Photo de la semaine 44 Ce week-end la France métropolitaine est passée à l'heure d'hiver. Le décalage horaire entre Paris avec La Réunion et le district de l'Archipel de CROZET est donc de 3 heures en moins pour la métropole." stating 3 hours difference from the capital in winter. I ignored sites saying Reunion or Crozet were UTC+3 or Paris+2, or Paris+3 with no date. Searching for fuseau horaire Archipel Crozet eliminates a lot of the hits otherwise shown for Crozet, FR and Crozet, VA. -- Take care. Thanks, Brian Inglis, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
