Can you elaborate on what it means for a system to be a 'right-based system'? Is there a URL to explain this?
It means that the count of seconds stored in time_t includes every broadcast full-second tick since 1970-01-01T00:00:00, that is, including the leap seconds but not including the fractional second step that happened at 1972-01-01T00:00:00. If I am not mistaken, this means that the value in time_t desired by the "right" zones is the same as is specified by a system which sets its clock using a device conforming to IEEE 1588 (PTP). -- Steve Allen <sla@ucolick.org> WGS-84 (GPS) UCO/Lick Observatory--ISB Natural Sciences II, Room 165 Lat +36.99855 1156 High Street Voice: +1 831 459 3046 Lng -122.06015 Santa Cruz, CA 95064 http://www.ucolick.org/~sla/ Hgt +250 m
