Good Day! I wonder if it is possible to add a new city to your timezone database ? I do live in Tyumen/Russia and use BSD* unices for quite a long time. I often wondered why the heck should I use anonymous timezones like GMT+5, then stoped doing it. I've downloaded your recent database: tzdata2000g.tar.gz dated on Oct 10 2000 then made corresponding changes in europe file where all russian cities are located. Resulting patch is the following: *** orig/europe Tue Oct 10 21:35:15 2000 --- europe Sat Oct 28 14:48:59 2000 *************** *** 1607,1612 **** --- 1607,1617 ---- 5:00 Russia SVE%sT 1991 Mar 31 2:00s 4:00 Russia SVE%sT 1992 Jan 19 2:00s 5:00 Russia YEK%sT # Yekaterinburg Time + Zone Asia/Tyumen 4:16:29 - LMT 1920 Jan 6 + 4:00 - TYUT 1930 Jun 21 # Tyumen Time + 5:00 Russia TYU%sT 1991 Mar 31 2:00s + 4:00 Russia TYU%sT 1992 Jan 19 2:00s + 5:00 Russia TYU%sT Zone Asia/Omsk 4:53:36 - LMT 1919 Nov 14 5:00 - OMST 1930 Jun 21 # Omsk TIme 6:00 Russia OMS%sT 1991 Mar 31 2:00s *************************************************************************** Me myself and lot's of BSD users here in Tyumen will be much greatful to you if you would be so kind to add our small city to your Time database :-). Thanks. Ruslan Zalata, JSC Cityline-Tyumen, Unix System Administrator.
