Today, MK Nitzan Horowitz of the opposition Meretz party, will be bringing a proposal before the Ministerial Judicial Committee to extend annually Daylight Saving Time until the beginning of November. Currently, DST ends on the Sunday before the fast of Yom Kippur which generally means sometime in September of early October. The chances of the proposal in its current form being passed are slim, but an amended version (i.e. a compromise formula to end DST sometime in October) may be sent back to committee for review. Should this or an amended proposal advance towards amending the current DST law, I will update the TZ forum.. ___________________________________________________________________________ Ephraim Silverberg, CSE System Group, Phone number: 972-2-6585521 Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
