I am indeed an advocate of open data as an enabler of accountability and transparency particularly since I am a journalist by training and am extremely interested in keeping things open.
However, I am unfortunately unable to be at ICANN61 due to work obligations at my university. Ironically, I will be busy organizing several sessions related to open data at the upcoming Nordic Data Journalism Conference in Stockholm taking place during 15-18 March ( http://noda2018.se).
My sincere apologies and hope you manage to organize a successful session.

I thought I reach out to you to inform you about NCSG's intention to submit a proposal for a cross-community session on ICANN's open data efforts. If any of the groups want to join us as the co-organizer, please contact me to work on a description and put your name down as a co-organizer on the proposal. Of course if no one volunteers at this stage and if the proposal gets accepted we will reach out to you again to organize the session in a cross-community fashion.
