I am not sure how we speedily get a consensus on a topic such as this. The At-Large ranges from the very comfortable to the proletariat. The interest of the underserved would be different than those with more wherewithal and experience. What is the focus? The evolution of the underserved? and if so, the evolution to what? Pari,
That was my call. I worried we had too much to cover and that we don’t have an established consensus position on the topic, within the At-Large community. There will be several opportunities to speak up, in your own voice, during ICANN 81 and we can certainly make it a priority to discuss where we stand as a community. We’ll be defining our priorities at our strategic session, and this can certainly be on the docket. I just did not believe we were prepared as a community to bring this discussion to the board.
Jonathan

Dear all,
I was concerned to see that the question I suggested for the board, which was previously listed, has now been removed. Under CEO priorities, nothing is currently noted. Could you clarify whether sustainable development has been entirely excluded from the board discussion or if it will still be addressed in some form?
I’m raising this as today is the deadline for submitting questions to the board. With Agenda 2030 rapidly approaching, I believe ICANN’s commitment to a genuine green approach is a matter of utmost urgency, requiring far more serious attention than the current, seemingly vague approach suggests.
Thank you,
Pari
*Question for the board:*
The draft ICANN Strategic Plan 2025-2030 raises key questions: How does ICANN plan to set measurable targets for environmental sustainability? Will sustainability be fully integrated into DNS, internet infrastructure, and expansion projects? Will it include multistakeholder engagement, awareness initiatives, and advocacy for sustainable practices in Internet governance? Finally, how does the Board plan to embed environmental responsibility as a lasting core of ICANN's governance mission?
*Priorities for the CEO: *
As ICANN's new CEO steps in, prioritizing alignment with Agenda 2030 and a green approach is essential, directly supporting ICANN’s FY2026–2030 strategic goals. This requires embedding ecological sustainability in DNS management, advancing green technologies in internet expansion projects, and integrating sustainability within ICANN’s multistakeholder model. Establishing measurable targets will be key to tracking progress and ensuring accountability in these efforts.
