Additionally, in the report, under each recommendation, the group tried to indicate the savings if a specific recommendation is adopted. For example: “Traditionally, the last day of a six-day meeting (currently a Thursday) is used for community wrap-up meetings, the Public Forum and the ICANN Board Meeting. ICANN staff provided the discussion group with data that shows a consistently strong decrease in meeting room usage on the final two days of a six-day meeting (i.e., Wednesdays and especially Thursdays), and estimated that reducing the Community Forum by a day could result in potential annual savings of over US$460,000, due to reduced venue rental costs, lower travel expenses, and streamlined scheduling.” If you have further questions, feel free to reach out. To be able to give an opinion on savings at our meetings, we should first know how much ICANN raises, then know the savings percentage for each measure taken.
