Thanks for your note.

As I indicated when i sent the short update note, over the next week - spare time while still in Dublin and then when I get home several days later, I’ll be producing a more fulsome report of activities, discussions and decisions.  That will include specific tasks, owners, and dates.  

We have produced some specific work leading up to Dublin which I identified in my pre-Dublin report:

·       We are now on the third iteration of our “Introduction to Universal Acceptance”  (http://1drv.ms/1G0AB1g).   Rather than ‘finish’ this in Dublin (and there are still sections that haven’t even been started), we agreed to break it up into smaller documents which will be easier for us as a group to review and sign-off and get ‘published’ for people who are asking for them.  The Definition of UA Ready is one of the topics.

·       We’re developing a Test Suite of use cases.  We’re also planning on registering names relevant to the use cases and finding a way that smaller developers can make use of the domains.  https://goo.gl/sJYm3P   The comment period for this document finished just before Dublin.  There were only minor comments.   We’ll take this document and register some names that we can use as specific examples.   

We should also tidy up the sample text to send to webmaster when people (not just people acting as part of the UASG) encounter a website that doesn’t act like they want it to.   The draft is at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Efsao9I6ko4_ohQAxrW_xogma2il6jVrsphA9DHrLVo/edit where you can see we’ve already had translation into a host of languages.

For those who could not attend the conference, can you or someone from UA provide information on anything that was, aside from agreeing there is "more work ahead", actually completed at the conference (excluding presentations and slide shows about past and future progress, and excluding the initiation of new tasks). The PDF only references items "to be progressed" rather than things actually being "completed" and the internet community, I think, would like to see "tangible progress" rather than "continuing progress". The conversation between conferences tends to be about items to be talked about at the next conference, whereas at the conferences presentations and slide shows occur about progress to date and in the future, with developmemt of new tasks to add to the development agenda at each conference, but nothing seems to be "actually completed in the present", with the internet community always looking forward to future accomplishments after reviewing the past, with the same conclusion always being "much is still left to do".

"At the full-day UA Workshop held on Sunday, more than 50 people participated in developing more than a dozen tasks (each with owners and deadlines) to be progressed before the ICANN55 meeting in Marrakesh in February 2016."

What is the time-frame, if any, for completing any or all of the referenced more than a dozen newly developed tasks, or any task?

Please find attached a brief report on what’s happened with regard to Universal Acceptance at ICANN54.  Feel free to use this in your own respective meeting reports that you may be preparing.

I have started preparing a more fulsome report but don’t realistically expect to have it completed before the end of the month.

I expect to have the slides available on the UA Wiki sometime early November.  If you would like copies of specific presentations before then, please let me know.

We have:

1) The introductory slide deck Christian used on Sunday
2) The presentation for Ashwin Ragan on ICANN IT’s progress
3) The presentation provided by Avria on Sunday
4) The presentation deck used by Dennis on Sunday
5) The presentation deck used by Edmon on Monday - which was basically the same as that used by Christian on Sunday with a few more slides about achievements on Sunday.
6) The slides used by Rinalia on Monday.

Many thanks for all those who participated during the Sunday workshop.  And thanks, also, to those who accepted assignments.

There is much work ahead, but I think we’re well poised.
