Don,

In French, John Doe would probably be “Pierre Dupond” in Europe (which oddly enough is not a very common name statistically) but it may not fit the bill EAI-wise...

For EAI examples, my suggestion would be something like Noël.André@région.fr or Hélène.Guérin@région.fr

The use of accentuated surnames has been patchy since the advent of typewriters… but those who have one sometimes resent it, these two are the most common which can be accentuated: http://www.filae.com/nom-de-famille/classement-general-1 and other sources.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for this.

We’re looking to build a bit of narrative to show how important EAI is to people (in this case imaginary) who can’t currently use email the way that they might want to because their names use non-ascii characters.

Hello Don

May be we can use SUPPORT@ or MAIL@ instead of name along with country specific example.
भारत

Like for Russia you can use
почта@пример.pyc in English mail@example.rus

Thanks

We’re building some documentation around EAI and creating some generic, but culturally local, examples of email addresses.

In the US it might be something like john.doe@example.com.  In the UK it might be something like john.bull@example.com.  And in NZ it would be Joe.Bloggs@example.com

I’m looking for similar, ‘everyman’ names in other places, particularly those that don’t use only ascii.

So, if you have any suggestions, please do let me know.
