Interesting read, but in many respects this isn’t a UA issue at all but more a reputation one.

 

They sum it up themselves:

 

Avoid at all costs (or savings) all domains which are priced incredulously cheap. The poisoning of the proverbial .xyz well was most likely caused by really cheap prices and promotions causing them to be chosen by spammers

Just bump into this article of a site owner's experience with gTLD (he uses .xyz) which I think many of you may find interesting.

Lots of what he experienced was discussed in the UA group already.  And recently, I learned that someone tried to purchase a certificate of a domain where the TLD was delegated recently and the vendor can't sell as the TLD is not available.
