Sorry for delay responding. Thank you, that is helpful.

Is there any way to measure

·        How many users of Coremail or 163 or Neteasy have actually tried to use EAI?

·        How many support calls Coremail receives regarding EAI?

At Microsoft I have seen less than a dozen business escalations in 4 years for IDN and EAI combined.  That’s not necessarily indicative of overall demand, it’s just an indication of how many managed commercial customers were motivated to file an escalation.  It would be good to get some real end user statistics if possible.

Do you think Coremail would be willing to share some of this information with this group?

here is some simple information:

Coremail is the first one in china which supports EAI. Coremail has sold many EAI systems, which has supported almost one million users. for example, cnnic's email system have been upgraded to support eai.

One of the top email service providers (163.com or neteasy) with around 400 Million users has updated his basic email system to support EAI. In the near future, 163.com will porvide public eai service.

So around 1 million users in China has already enjoyed the eai service.

So our customer service center normally have the following questions from users:

1, Where can I apply the eai account?

2,  why does my email client not support eai?

3, which software does support eai?

4, When will the non-eai email service provider support EAI?

I think it would be good for us to share information about customer demand for EAI and IDN, or related support calls.  Do you have any statistics you can share?

Dear Mark,

Thanks for your kind information. Many companies and organizations' systems in China have been upgraded to support EAI (The wording Brent suggests. :)). Our customer service centers get many complains about their email clients which can not support EAI.

So many customers are waiting for outlook's upgrading to support EAI because outlook are very popular in China and the world.

yes, outlook 7.0 supports and recognizes idn@idn.idn, which also receives IDN@idn via pop3.

But it can not support the sending of  idn@idn.idn via SMTP.

Outlook client for windows does support and recognize idn@idn.idn Cyrillic email

It doesn't fly with hotmail / outlook web email though.
