For Second Position to be filled I would like to second the nomination of Dennis to Vice-chair done by Richard Merdinger

Why Harish : He has been an active advocate for Universal Acceptance within India and more globally through his participation in the IETF and the IGFs. His working puts him in a good position to advocate Universal Acceptance in one of the UASG’s target position. He has done complete justice with his current position of UA ambassador and unlike other ambassador in our region who have personal charges and allegations of his several misconducts , charges of lack of knowledge, injustice or miss use of current position and so on, Harish was always away from such issues. I hope that if he can be Vice Chair he can do many things which are expected from UASG.

Elections for UASG Chair and Vice-Chair – 2019

The UASG is having elections for the Chair and Vice Chair.  Here’s the process.   NB: All times are 23:00 UTC

Nominations

This is a call for nominations.  

Anyone subscribed to the UA-discuss@icann.org mailing list is eligible to stand.

Nominations (including self-nominations) should be sent to info@uasg.tech and should include:

• the name of the person nominated
  
• the position(s) for which they are nominated
  
• contact details for the person nominated.  This should include an email address and a telephone number.
  

 

The election administrator will verify that the nominated person accepts the nomination.

 

Once the nomination deadline has passed on February 27 2019 a list of candidates will be prepared showing name, email address, photo and candidate statement.  Names will be shown by position in alphabetical order of surnames.

 

Candidates can be nominated for Chair, Vice-Chair or both.

Voting

Voting will be done using www.opavote.com

 

For the Chair the method used will be Instant Runoff Voting https://www.opavote.com/methods/instant-runoff-voting

 

For the Vice-Chair the method used will be Scottish STV https://www.opavote.com/methods/single-transferable-vote#scottish-stv

 

These voting methods allow voters to rank their choices. 

 

Voting will open on March 3, 2019 and close on March 10, 2019.  Decisions will be announced as soon as they are ready and have been verified.
