Recieved report from Hydrographic and Oceanographic service of the Navy of Chile
Official time zone changes as follows: saturday March 9, 2002 At 2400 Official Continental Chile and Chiean and Anartic Territory adjust clocks to 2300, adopting ZT+4. Same day AT 2200 Official time of Western Insular Chile, adjust clocks to 2100, adopting ZT+6.
Thanks for the heads-up. This matches the tz tables, which have Chile's clocks springing forward at 04:00 UTC on the first Sunday on or after October 9, and falling back at 03:00 UTC on the first Sunday on or after March 9. According to our sources, Chile has used the same daylight-saving rules since October 1966, with the exception of the drought year of 1998/1999 when they switched on September 27 and April 4.
