EU plans to abolish summer time

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-45366390 A recent EU public consultation was massively in favour of abolishing the twice-yearly clock changes. It's not clear from the article whether the final proposal will be to abolish it completely, allowing each member state to pick either its current summer offset or its current winter offset, or whether states will be allowed to continue to change on the coordinated dates. Assuming the UK leaves the EU on schedule, it's even more unclear what the UK will do. -- Clive D.W. Feather | If you lie to the compiler, Email: clive@davros.org | it will get its revenge. Nothing in the linked consultation questions and answers given so far: http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-18-5302_en.htm support the quoted comment from Juncker's ZDF interview that respondents want to stay on "summer time" year round, although that could be a mistranslation of his words, a reflection of the stated desires of the departments holding the consultation, or that the majority of the respondents were German, who may prefer an earlier start than EU citizens in higher latitudes, with too much summer evening daylight, and would prefer standard time. -- Take care.
