Fwd: Bulletin C number 67
Bulletin C number 67 is available, see also: https://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/bulletinc.dat At the same time, a new NTP leap second file has been made available by IERS (directory listing): https://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/ntp/ New file: https://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/ntp/leap-seconds.3913697179 As expected, no leap second is scheduled for the end of June 2024, but the expiration date of the file has been updated. As far as I see, the file also includes the changes recently discussed on this list, regarding a copyright info and some cosmetic changes. Thanks, this means we can start copying leap-seconds.list directly from the IERS instead of indirectly via the NIST. I noticed a minor glitch when trying to do that, so I sent the IERS some email about it (ccing this list) and hope they can fix it. While waiting for the fix, I wrote and installed the attached proposed patch. This should make it easier for Tim and I to automatically propagate a new version of the leap seconds file from the IERS, whenever a new version comes out. You can test this in your own repository by running "make commit-leap-seconds.list". You'll need the usual GNU/Linux tools to do so (this should be OK since we already assume Git etc. for maintainers).
