request to update DST info for Timezone: Tehran/Iran
Hi Dear IANA, I am using some system and I encountered that in some situations Daylight Saving Time is not working correctly.
From 20 March 2023 , DST has been removed from government Policies and So from then there would not be any changes in Time. So Time zone Tehran/IRAN is +3:30 for all days of the year. I hope it will be reflected in timezone databases and I can see the Joda time is updated respectively.

From the above lines I got the last Rule for DST changes is : "Rule Iran 2021 2022 - Sep 21 24:00 0 " and it is +0330/+0430. So the new DST policy is not reflected in it. Please let me know if I am making any mistakes .

the last transition was On Sep 21 2022 at 24:00 transition to 0 hours offset. That means it uses the `3:30 Iran +0330/+0430` statement - i.e. it remains on 3:30. This aligns with the comment `...DST will be cancelled for the next Iranian year 1402... (i.e 2023-March-21) and forthcoming years.` The rules have no transition in 2023 or later. Can you clarify what you'd expect to see be different in the rules? My guess is that Vajihe would prefer to replace Asia/Tehran's last Zone continuation line: 3:30 Iran +0330/+0430 with something like the following two lines: 3:30 Iran +0330/+0430 2022 Sep 21 24:00 3:30 Iran +0330 However, because the Iran rules say that there's no DST after 2022, such a change wouldn't affect the generated TZif files and would therefore not affect any timestamps. In situations like these, I've generally opted to use one line rather than two as this makes tzdata easier to maintain. (Although in the bleeding-edge development sources the strings "+0330/+0430" and "+0330" are simplified to "%z", the same argument applies.) You can see something similar with America/Sao_Paulo in the file 'southamerica'. In the development sources its last line is "-3:00 Brazil %z" even though Brazil stopped observing DST in 2019. This last line is OK since the Brazil's Rule lines specify no DST after 2019.
