Casablanca Timezone changes
According to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/clockchange.html?n=60&year=2012, DST in Morocco is being suspended between 20 July and 19 August. A customer is reporting that the suspension will be between 15 July and 26 August. I have asked for references, but so far do not have any. The tzdata database has no suspension: Rule Morocco 2012 max - Apr lastSun 2:00 1:00 S Rule Morocco 2012 max - Sep lastSun 3:00 0 - Neil Masson Unless stated otherwise above: IBM United Kingdom Limited - Registered in England and Wales with number 741598. Hi Neil, I pinged my government contacts in Morocco and got nothing on this as well. There was a discussion earlier on the list about determining the beginning of Ramadan. Perhaps it's too early? Eliot On 7/12/12 12:58 PM, Neil Masson wrote:

FWIW, Microsoft appear to be going with the 20 July and 19 August dates and have Windows hotfixes to be installed during certain intervals to cope with the temporary suspension of DST. here's the government announcement http://www.mmsp.gov.ma/fr/actualites.aspx?id=250 The actual proclamation is in arabic. It doesn't say when Ramadan is (presumably they require observation?) This website http://www.gobladi.com/ramadan-2012-au-maroc suggests july 20th to august 18th but points out that actual date depends on observation. and this one concurs: http://www.naturallymorocco.co.uk/about-morocco/public-holidays-two/ramadan.... Apparently it's this ministery that actually sets the date for Ramadan: http://www.habous.gov.ma/fr/ There isn't a date posted, however under islamic affairs there appears to be announcement of sightings of moon crescent http://www.habous.gov.ma/fr/Affaires-islamiques.html and the start of holidays so this could also apply to Ramadan as well. So by all account the actual date isn't settled but guesses from timeanddate.com and microsoft are as close as one could hope to do ahead of time. On 12/07/2012 3:53 PM, David Magda wrote:
