Turkey to use EU rules starting 2007
Hello, Until 2006, Turkey seemed to start/end DST at 1:00 standard time, as reported earlier. Starting 2007 though, it seems that they are adopting EU's 1:00 UTC start/end time, according to the following page (2007-03-07): http://www.ntvmsnbc.com/news/402029.asp "Turkey is to shift to daylight savings time on the last Sunday in March, with clocks being moved forward one hour at 3:00 am on March 25. Summer time will end on October 28, with clocks being put back one hour at 4.00 am." The old 1:00s was used last time in October 2006 as the following news article suggest: http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/english/5305826.asp "The day-light saving implementation will end at 2.00 a.m. on October 29th, 2006 as the clocks will be set back by one hour..." Best regards, Steffen
The official document is located here - it is in Turkish, but still somewhat intelligible (for non-Turkish speaking people): http://rega.basbakanlik.gov.tr/eskiler/2007/03/20070307-7.htm By searching for a phrase on that page, I was able to locate the following seemingly official document (on a non-government server though) describing dates between 2002 and 2006: http://www.alomaliye.com/bkk_2002_3769.htm Best regards, Steffen
