Hi, I´m trying to advise that in Quintana Roo, Mexico government change time zone to GTM - 5:00 permanently (entire year). ¿Can you help me? Thank you so much. 2015-04-03 13:01 GMT-05:00 Amanda Baber via RT <iana-questions@iana.org>:

Dear Ricardo,
Thank you for contacting us.
Per the Time Zone Coordinator and RFC 6557, questions and comments about the contents of the Time Zone Database should be posted on the TZ mailing list.
We host the database, but updates are made by the TZ Coordinator in consultation with the list.
For archives and subscription information, please see

Hi, I live in Cancún, Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo, México and recently, the state government decided to change our time zone, being now permanently GTM - 5:00. Right now, 1 hour ahead Mexico City (capital of our country). I believe you haven´t updated this information. Thank you so much for updating it.
Best regards.

That has been implemented since release 2015a of the tz database. The time-zone identifier is "America/Cancun". -- -=( Ian Abbott @ MEV Ltd. E-mail: <abbotti@mev.co.uk> )=- -=( Web: http://www.mev.co.uk/ )=-

Thank you, that information was published in the tz database in release 2015a (2015-01-29). The commentary says: The Mexican state of Quintana Roo, represented by America/Cancun, will shift from Central Time with DST to Eastern Time without DST on 2015-02-01 at 02:00. (Thanks to Steffen Thorsen and Gwillim Law.) If this is incorrect please let us know.
