The uruguayan government has decreed a change in the local time.
Thanks for letting us know about that. This takes effect October 9 so we should get this out the door. Here's a proposed patch to the tz database (basically, the change you mentioned, along with some commentary). This is in addition to the patch I circulated on this list on September 25 for Kyrgyzstan. =================================================================== RCS file: RCS/southamerica,v retrieving revision 2005.12 retrieving revision 2005.12.0.1 diff -pu -r2005.12 -r2005.12.0.1 --- southamerica 2005/08/22 16:05:26 2005.12 +++ southamerica 2005/09/30 05:45:43 2005.12.0.1 @@ -1055,6 +1055,12 @@ Rule Uruguay 2004 only - Sep 19 0:00 1: # save energy ... it was postponed two weeks.... # http://www.presidencia.gub.uy/_Web/noticias/2005/03/2005031005.htm Rule Uruguay 2005 only - Mar 27 2:00 0 - +# From Eduardo Cota (2005-09-27): +# +http://www.presidencia.gub.uy/_Web/decretos/2005/09/CM%20119_09%2009%20 +2005_00001.PDF # This means that from 2005-10-09 at 02:00 local time, +until 2006-03-12 at # 02:00 local time, official time in Uruguay will +be at GMT -2. +Rule Uruguay 2005 only - Oct 9 2:00 1:00 S +Rule Uruguay 2006 only - Mar 12 2:00 0 - # Zone NAME GMTOFF RULES FORMAT [UNTIL] Zone America/Montevideo -3:44:44 - LMT 1898 Jun 28 -3:44:44 - MMT 1920 May 1 # Montevideo MT
