Hello, there's an error while representing a timezone in your database. May I know who to communicate and interact with regarding getting it corrected? Thanks. ~Mayuresh -- Simplicity can be Marvelously Powerful.
(To the whole list this time, instead of just Mayuresh...) Are you talking about a *genuine* error this time, rather than just the time zone in India not having the identifier you want? I suggest you just post the details of the error to the list. If you can provide a patch which would correct the data, that would be even better. also to the whole list :) i'd been away on a vacation since 23rd january 2012 with no net connectivity. so, the chances that this email was sent by me aren't only tiny, they are impossible. something wrong going on somewhere? ~mayuresh On Tue, 25 Dec 2012, Jon Skeet wrote:

i meant 23rd december 2012. :) strange, off all the mailing lists i'm subscribed to, only the tz@iana.org one had issues with non genuine emails being sent out in my name. On Fri, 28 Dec 2012, Mayuresh Kathe wrote:

The email in question was sent on December 20, before you left. It looks like it got held up somewhere until December 25. Deborah Goldsmith On Dec 28, 2012, at 7:50 PM, Mayuresh Kathe <mayuresh@wolfman.devio.us> wrote:

true, what's makes it ever more strange is; the original mail did get received by the list on that very day. there was a short discussion regarding the issue i had raised. is there any issue with the mail manager (software) at mm.iana.org? On Fri, 28 Dec 2012, Deborah Goldsmith wrote:

Date: Sat, 29 Dec 2012 00:40:40 -0500 (EST) From: Mayuresh Kathe <mayuresh@wolfman.devio.us> Message-ID: <alpine.BSO.2.00.1212290030530.28365@wolfman.devio.us> | is there any issue with the mail manager (software) at mm.iana.org? Clearly something happened there, the message (the copy recently posted) sat there for 5 days - perhaps they needed a filesystem recovery from backup, or something. In any case, it doesn't matter what happened if it was just one isolated message and doesn't happen very frequently. kre

This email header gives a good clue :- X-Mailman-Approved-At: Tue, 25 Dec 2012 15:06:42 +0000 I'd say Mayuresh's message from Dec 20 was held for moderation by mailman, where it sat until it was approved by a list administrator (eg: Paul Eggert, Kim Davies of ICANN or Michelle Cotton of ICANN). My guess is Mayuresh sent the message on Dec 20, got a notice back from mailman saying his message was held for moderation because he sent it from an email address that is not a subscriber to the list, and so by Dec 21 Mayuresh joined the tz list and send another email to the tz list (the first one we saw, because it was not held for moderation). -- ___________________________________________________________________________ David Keegel <djk@cyber.com.au> Cyber IT Solutions Pty. yep, absolutely correct analysis. :) had forgotten about that first mail to the list before subscription. ~mayuresh On Sat, 29 Dec 2012, David Keegel wrote:
