Venezuela to change time zone on May 1
According to some news, https://actualidad.rt.com/actualidad/204758-venezuela-modificar-huso-horario... sequia-elnino Venezuela to change its time zone on May 1 because of El Niño (prolonged drought). It was not specified if clocks would roll forward or backward. Updates will follow in the next few days. Regards, Alexander Krivenyshev, WorldTimeZone.com
Thanks for the heads-up. A later announcement makes it clear that the plan is to jump forward by 30 minutes at 02:30 on May 1. Proposed patch attached, and installed on the experimental Github version. It really is time for a new tzdata release.
FYI, this change has been published in the official Gazette, here: http://historico.tsj.gob.ve/gaceta_ext/abril/1842016/E-1842016-4551.pdf The details match the previous announcements.
